Did we have a good Halloween/Dia De Los Muertos? The season officially kicks off in November and the entire valley seems to come awake at once. Lots of live music, shows and other events are pre-gaming the thanksgiving season. Also, any Dodgers fans in the house?

Raising Hay returns to La Quinta

Coachella Valley Horse Rescue is saddling up for its third annual Raising Hay fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the historic J&J Ranch in La Quinta. The Indio-based nonprofit—currently caring for 14 rescued horses and more than 100 helped over the years—uses the night to fuel its rescue work and equine-assisted wellness programs for kids and veterans.

Festivities kick off at 3:30 p.m. with apps, a silent auction, line dancing, a DJ, a veteran tribute, and a full bar. This year’s goal: $80,000 to cover hay and feed, vet care, and program costs. As one volunteer put it, the bond between horse and human is pure magic—and your ticket keeps that going.

Pre-sale tickets are $100 through Nov. 7 ($125 at the door). All proceeds go straight to the rescue.
