Hello CV Locals, happy Friday Junior!

Grab your coffee and maybe a light jacket—we’ve got some windy gusts to shake out the dust this morning, but we’re looking at a picture-perfect, sunny weekend in the mid-70s ahead. We’re keeping the high energy going with the return of the Wildflower Festival and the world's best tennis stars descending on Indian Wells. From bedside bed races in Cathedral City to John Mulaney in Indio, we’ve got a packed weekend of desert magic to get through, so let's dive in!

If you are new here, The CV Scene delivers just the right amount of news and events for locals of Coachella Valley. No crime, no politics, no spam—just the good stuff. We scan newspapers, blogs, social media, business journals, and Google alerts so you don’t have to.

Wind Advisories and Sunny Skies for the West Valley

A high-wind advisory is in place through Thursday for the San Gorgonio Pass and West Valley, with stronger gusts forecast for Saturday. However, clear, sunny skies and highs in the mid-70s are expected for the rest of the weekend, making it ideal for the surge of outdoor festivals and tennis matches taking over the region.

Tennis Season Officially Arrives in Indian Wells

The main draw of the 2026 BNP Paribas Open is officially in swing at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. With defending champions and international stars like Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper hitting the courts, expect heavy traffic on Highway 111 and Washington Street as the "tennis paradise" comes alive.

Adventures led by women, designed to make a difference.

Peru, Bhutan and Cambodia. That’s where Intrepid, the world’s largest adventure travel company, has launched three new Women’s Expeditions.

These small-group trips are designed exclusively for women, creating space to connect, explore and support local women-led businesses along the way.

Trek the lesser-known Chinchero to Urquillos route in the Peruvian Andes with an all-female crew. Discover Cambodia’s street food scene on a women-run tuk tuk tour. Unwind with a traditional herbal hot stone bath at a women-owned farmhouse in Bhutan.

Every trip is led by an expert female guide and built around meaningful, immersive experiences.
