Hello CV Locals, happy Friday Junior!
Now, don’t get us wrong. The 110 degrees Palm Springs is expected to hit on Friday is not that hot by local standards (remember 2 Summers ago 🥵 ?). But this may be the hottest it’s ever been in MARCH, in the whole United States. Wow. In the immortal words of Paris Hilton: “thats hot.”
If you are new here, The CV Scene delivers just the right amount of news and events for locals of Coachella Valley. No crime, no politics, no spam—just the good stuff. We scan newspapers, blogs, social media, business journals, and Google alerts so you don’t have to.

Celebrity Chefs and "Carte Blanche" Luxury Take Over El Paseo

Last year’s tasting dinner at “Wildest,” Palm Desert
The Palm Desert Food & Wine festival returns this weekend (March 19–22) with a star-studded lineup including Curtis Stone and Alex Guarnaschelli. The big news for 2026 is the debut of the "Carte Blanche" Grand Tasting Experience, a high-end luxury tent featuring curated artisanal bites and elite winemakers. Expect El Paseo to be the valley's culinary epicenter through Sunday evening.
Palm Springs residents are heading to Ruth Hardy Park this Saturday, March 21, for the ONE-PS Picnic & Community Expo. This long-standing tradition brings together all 50+ neighborhood organizations with city officials and local nonprofits. It’s a "state of the city" style event but with a festive picnic vibe, free food, and essential updates on upcoming neighborhood projects and safety initiatives.
🔗 Superbloom Status: 2026 "Above-Average" Peak is Here
Horticulturists are confirming that the 2026 desert bloom is officially hitting "above-average" status across the Coachella Valley. While the early wildflowers in Anza-Borrego are beginning to fade into cactus blooms, the low-elevation desert floor and spots like the La Quinta Cove are currently draped in vibrant sand verbena and desert lilies. Visitors are urged to "stay on the trails" to protect the fragile ecosystem during this rare spectacle.
