The long-vacant Days Inn at the north end of Palm Springs is finally getting a glow-up. City commissioners have unanimously approved plans for "The Verb in Palm Springs," a 179-room resort taking over the site at 1973 N. Palm Canyon Dr. Designed by local firm O2 Architecture, the project involves a significant expansion—nearly doubling the current room count—and will replace the old diner and lobby with a modern restaurant and two-story hotel structure. The developers, Spot On Ventures, say the goal is to turn the derelict property into a "dynamic amenity" that anchors the northern gateway to the city.

The West Coast’s largest fashion event is returning to the desert this spring, but the celebrations start next week. Diamond Wish Fashion Week El Paseo hits the runway March 13–18, 2026, and to mark the new title partnership, the organizers are throwing a community kickoff party on Thursday, Jan. 22. Head to the center lawn at The Gardens on El Paseo from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for an evening of complimentary cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and live entertainment. It’s a free preview of the glamour to come, but an RSVP is required to attend.
